Bio-Containment Services

Council Rock Consulting, Inc.’s division, World BioHazTec, has extensive experience certifying BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories in North America and Asia. World BioHazTec is essentially the only organization that provides third party certification and can also be your Owner’s Advocate if you are planning to build or renovate a laboratory. As your Owner’s Advocate, our certification team will create a dialogue with the Owner to determine the needs and goals of your research. We will guide the Owner throughout the design, construction and operation process to ensure that the laboratory is compliant with the CDC/NIH Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL) guidelines and the USDA Animal Research Service guidelines.

When having your laboratory certified, our team of microbiologists, professional engineers and operations professionals visit your facility to make certain that your laboratory is in compliance with the CDC/NIH/USDA guidelines. Engineering and administrative controls are examined to ensure that your facility will operate within these guidelines. Recommendations to resolve any non-compliant issues are provided. Additional onsite visits may be needed to verify remediation of deficiencies. A letter of certification, valid for one year, will be issued upon completion of the project. Facility-specific training is also available for your employees to ensure that they are operating the laboratory safely.
